about

Forward-thinking junglists.

A tag team duo hailing from Ohio, foi oi oi and What the Bleep are two selectors pushing the boundaries of bass music. "Ragga bass" is the most accurate label used to describe what they play – as they lean toward reggae-influenced bass-heavy styles – but in actuality they are not bound by any specific genre. Instead, their focus is on a positive music experience that comes from a junglist mentality with a sense of humor. Always honoring the roots of mixing and selection, they energetically work turntables and move through many styles. The ultimate goal of the "foibleep experience" is to light up dancefloors with organic beats and positive vibes with a diverse selection of jungle, drum & bass, juke, roots dubstep, halfstep, dancehall, instrumental hip hop, and bass music genres still yet undefined.

Since 2004 foi oi oi and What the Bleep have jointly attended Movement (aka the Detroit Electronic Music Festival), spreading their music as "brothers". In honor of that tradition, they annually release the groundbreaking mixtape “Feelings for Detroit”, a mix widely-popular for it’s multiplicity of bass music sounds. The mix has become the duo’s most treasured creation, from the fluid "Top Mix of 2012" (RaggaJungle.biz) Volume 6: Water Sound to the 54-track dancefloor-focused Volume 7: Conquering Dandelion. And after much training and meditation, the duo releases the 2014 iteration in a kung fu style - Feelings for Detroit Volume 8: Under Mi Sensei.
